Is the screen needed for the time?


Not sure we understand your question fully. If by screen you mean the display screen on the timer, the answer would be yes. You will need to view that to correctly program the timer. If you mean the screen washer, we recommend that as well as it helps filter out debris. Replacement screen washers can be purchased separately.
