If for some reason you lose internet or wifi connection, will this unit still continue to water with the schedule that was set up earlier?

The timer will continue to run it’s programmed cycle as long as the batteries are good, even without a Wi-Fi connection, but you will need to restore the Wi-Fi connection if you want to make any changes to your watering schedule.
