If packaging wrinkles and ridges are hard to get rid of, can you apply an iron to the underside and steam it flat?

Please see below for general instructions on how to flatten your rugs: How to lay out your rug: Place the rolled-up rug on the floor and lay flat. For rugs that don’t include a non-slip back, we recommend adding a rug pad first. Vacuum the rug surface without a beater bar (spinning brush head) to remove shed fivers and flatten the rug further. Flatten curled corners either by reverse rolling or placing a heavy stack of books to weigh them down. To remove creases, place a damp cloth over the creased area and gently iron over it to help relax the wrinkles. We highly suggest getting a rug pad for your rug. This will help tremendously in avoiding curls, creases or warps as well as following the instructions above.
