Can I just hard wire these to the DVR and then play back the DVR on my laptop, skipping the whole smartphone thing? Thank you.


Remote viewing is an option, not a requirement. For customers who do not want to remotely view their product, they can opt to locally view it from a TV/monitor. As you noted, the cameras must be added to a compatible Night Owl DVR. Then the DVR can be connected to a TV/monitor (not a laptop) via HDMI for local viewing. To view on a laptop, you would need to download our free CMS software from our support site. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
