Do you need to remove original stain&poly first or lightly sand item(dresser) first? You say to apply with a brush& I've been told use a sponge????.


Hello, you should be able to sand and then apply our Polyshades product. However, if it is made by another company, test for compatibility. Sponges will smear our product and apply it unevenly or overapply it. A good quality natural bristle brush is best for application. Regards, Minwax Customer Service
