I stained my dresser. Would this work as a good top coat? Does it leave a smell? The stain still smells after it's dry.


Hello. Over our stains, it is an ideal sealer. Fast-Drying Polyurethane is oil or solvent-based. These types of products do emit an odor. However, once cured (not just dry to the touch), the odor will go away. To ensure this happens, ventilation is key. Drying time is based on 77 degrees and relative humidity of 50%.Higher humidity and thick coats will extend the dry/curing times. Regards, Minwax Customer Support
