Cabinets were painted with oil based paint then with a latex paint, which peeled. Will polyurethane over oil enriched cabinet enamel help this?


Hello. Polycrylic can be applied over latex paint. Other types of paint would have to be tested on your own for compatibility. Having said that, it is best to allow the paint to be cured for 30 days, if new. Since the existing oil-based paint has been applied for longer than 30 days, sand with 220 grit sand paper and the dust needs to be removed completely before application.
