Can polyurethane be applied directly to untreated wood, or should a wood conditioner be applied first?


Hello. If not staining, our Performance Series Sanding Sealer would work best, before applying our Fast-Drying Polyurethane product. You don't have to use it on bare wood, but it will help to seal the wood before applying our protective finish. Regards, Minwax Customer Support
