I plan to use this on my work bench that has been varnished twice. Do I need to sand w 220 grit and wipe clean before applying polyurethane?


The process is a good process. One thought is to sand it with 220 grit sand paper and then wipe it down with mineral spirits, then wipe it down with Dawn/water and let it dry before you apply polyurethane.
