Is this a good product to use on bare natural wood?

It al depends on what you are going to do with the natural wood once it is finished. If you are going to have it inside then this product is fine and will last a long time. If you are going to have it ourside then Minwax makes a Helsman polyuurethane that will provide triple the UV protection. If you are going to use it inside and your project has alot of spindles or ornate itms then I would suggest the wipe on polyurethan. It takes more coats but going on three times faster.
