Someone said they're "unreliable". why are they "unreliable"?

Mine got hard to open after using outside. I lubed it up with olive oil. Now it works much better. Still sometimes have to do the combination twice.

Was this Answer Helpful ?The only time I've ever had trouble with my lock was after it being outside on my shed for like 2 years...it started to rust and made it hard to open...other than that...no problems whatsoever!!
Was this Answer Helpful ?You have to be careful when moving the knob to enter the combo. If you just flick it will sometimes think you are moving it twice instead of once. You just need to adapt to how it works. If you are sloppy moving the knob it won't unlock. Not unreliable, just a bit picky on style.

Was this Answer Helpful ?Unreliable.....Only if somebody figures out or see you put you combination in. Then they have it opened and they can either steel your stuff or just reset the combination and then the product is useless. With out being able to get it opened the lock can not be reset. It says you can put in I think up to 32 directions of combination. But who the heck wants to remember that.

Was this Answer Helpful ?yeah....i found out already. it took two days. someone found an alternate pass-code to open it that i hadn't set, and told me about it. it was an easy one too. like up down right left. then it just started opening without a pass-code a day later. my other one got kicked off my locker and i found it inside my locker with the top part broken off. i wouldn't recommend these locks now. definitely not.
