I have used it on my gas grill, smoker and in the oven and had no issues with the cord melting.

Was this Answer Helpful ?The cord is heat resistant, but for some inexplicable reason, the connector between the cord and the thermocouple isn't. It melts when put into a hot enclosed BBQ.
