I am purchasing MacCourt 42x18x15 Window well cover. I have vinyl siding on the house. How would I attach to the house and should I use caulking ?


½ self tapping hex screws then silicone call on top and both sides against the siding. The other option is use Liquid Nails.

I used self-tapping screws with a rubber washer on it.. attached very easy and nice and tight.

I would use a silicon caulk. The vinyl siding on your is made to, and does expand up to an inch at different temperatures. If hard attached to the undersiding with a screw or nail it could buckle.

I use velcro straps to attach the covers to the siding and they work well.

Use big-headed, galvanized shingle nails. I don't know about caulk, it has to have room to move.

These are basement window coverings; Unlikely the siding comes down that far on the house. They keep referring to the ones I bought ( Even after I had ordered and bought them. Mine are 36 x 16.
