removing back wheel from MTD mower


Go to Harborfreight and get a wheel puller kit for $14 and it will come right off. Easier than having to heat one up with a torch.

i had the same problem. I took my mower to a friend that had a torch to heat the old rim to pull it off. The rim rusts on the axle and is very difficult to remove.

Remove cap, loosen bolt 1/4 to 1/2 inch (do not remove) strike bolt head with a hammer 3 to 5 times, remove bolt and wheel will slide off (little tight) grease axel before reinstalling new wheel
