Description says up to 600 watts for incandescent bulbs. But specifications only state 150 watts. Anyone use with incandescent bulbs?

The MACL-153M is rated for 150W of dimmable LED/CFL or 600W of incandescent/halogen lighting. Please see the following specification sheet for more information: (http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/369613a.pdf).

There are also three pendants and a five-lamp chandelier using 60-watt bulbs. The 150-watt specification is for LED's and CFL's that have electronic ballasts built into them. I believe the lower limit is to account for their power factor. We have a dimmer on five recessed cans with 100-watt equivalent LED's. We also have a couple on smaller loads of LED's. We've only experienced one failure. The five lamp chandelier had a bulb burn out with a pop. We could no longer turn it off with the dimmer. The bulb came free from its base, so I'm guessing there was a momentary short, but I don't know for sure. Stick to the ratings in the instructions and pay close attention to the rules about ganging several dimmers in a common switch box. There are heat sink tabs that can be removed, but you must derate the wattage load on the dimmer accordingly.
