The switch at the bottom of the stairs is not working. The one at the Top of the stairs still works. Which SWITCH do I need to purchase. I am lost .


If you have a light fixture that is controlled by two switches (such as top of the stairs and bottom of the stairs, or each end of a hallway) you will need two 3-way switches. If a light fixture is controlled from three locations then you will need two 3-way switches plus one 4-way switch.
