Can this model be used with only one 240 v outlet?


I read for some units, the plug for the washing machine can be plugged into the dryer plug (using transformer), therefore needing just one outlet.

Hello Patty. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG Single Unit Front Load LG WashTower™ with Center Control™ 4.5 cu. ft. Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Dryer, Model # WKE100HWA only requires one 240V outlet for the electric dryer. The washer is equipped with a standard 3-prong, grounding plug that must be plugged into a dedicated 3-prong outlet rated at 120 V,60 Hz. The dryer has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). You will also need to purchase a 30-amp, 240-volt, 4-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor or a 30-amp, 240-volt, 3-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor. Check your local building codes or contact your local building inspector to ask which power cord is permitted in your area. 3-wire connection is NOT permitted on new construction after January 1, 1996...^Ivan
