Does the drain hose need to be looped? I looked at a display model and the length of the drain hose is just barely long enough to reach our sink/air-gap connection without looping.

Hello there, Tim. Thank you for your question about the LG LDPH5554S Top Control Dishwasher! We understand that you're concerned about the drain hose and whether it needs to be looped. The drain hose does need to be installed correctly to avoid water siphoning back into the dishwasher. The height of the drain hose end should be at least 12" (305 mm) and no more than 40" (1016 mm) from the base of the dishwasher. If the hose is just barely long enough to reach your sink or air-gap connection, you may need to adjust the installation to ensure it meets these requirements. If you need an extension hose, you can use a 5/8" or 7/8" diameter hose and a coupler to connect the two ends. Please refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed instructions on connecting the drain hose. You can download the manual here: Owner's Manual and check pages 19 and 20 for more information. - https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LDPH5554S.ASSESNA For further assistance, please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport, and we'd be happy to guide you through the process! —Renzo
