will this rip fence work for worm drive / hypoid saws also?

It should fit it just fine, even believe instructions showed it mounted to one

it should it attaches to the front of the saw, on the metal guide rails, also it is right or left sided. I have both so all I need to do is recalibrate it when I change saws. It only takes a few minutes

Yes, it will work with worm drive saws. As you see in the picture , it has two "slots". These slots are where the blade goes depending on which side of the saw your blade is on.. The saws base butts up against straight stop and is clamped there with two adjustable set screws. Be carefull not to over tighten the set screws, they hold good without being over tightened.
