can this product be used to cut hardibacker 1/4"

The answer by Mrbios is very incorrect. According to the manufacturer's Tools & Materials Checklist, a utility knife OR Carbide-Tipped Scoring Blade is needed for cutting. www dot jameshardie dot com/JamesHardieMainSite/media/Site-Documents/HardieBacker/JHBP225_Install_Checklist_CO2_R1.pdf

No, Hardi board is basically cement board and will dull metal very quickly. Also, this type of board needs to be cut with a round blade to get a smooth and straight cut. A circular wet diamond blade is used the kind found in a tile saw. If you just need a few cuts you could use any circular saw with a carbide tipped blade (ideally use a used blade that is already dull). Wear a mask and have someone apply a steady stream of water - just enough to keep the dust down or cut it dry and wear a mask and setup a small fan to help blow the dust away. It should be cut outside as it will be very messy.
