Kobalt 13 -Piece 3-1/2-in Magnetic Ratcheting Multi-Bit Replaced Screwdriver Set
I purchased this the other day.Should this screwdriver come apart in 3 separate pieces above the handle? I don’t think so!

This screw driver should not come apart at all. The numerous inconsistent problems likely stem from a few design and planning defects. (1) it is made in China (hardly a place for high tolerance mfg) (2) the small set screws are too short to be relied upon so much. There should be a coating of sorts to keep the screws from loosening or there should be a different type of fastener. (3) the internal mechanism appears to mimic an automobile transmission. This is very unique for a tool but the designer over looked the manufacturing process. The tool jams up at almost every full turn. The wheel gears are very likely "stamped" and the flat ring gears are also stamped and also perhaps welded. Additionally there is an inaccurate tooth fit between the two types of gears. This coupled with the flashing spurs left from stamping out the gears leaves gravel in the way an intended fine watch. (PRETTY MUCH LIKE A HAND FULL OF SAND ON YOUR EYEBALL) This tool could be a priceless item if it were machined properly and its performance was consistently A++ which of course it is not. I give it an "A+" for concept and a "F--" for performance.
