All of the accessories snap on. Just clip it on the top and push down to snap it in. Having the rail flush to the door jamb is no problem.

Yes! The accessories snap on. The top edge of the bracket is put in place and then the bottom edge snaps over the lower edge of the K rail. This makes it possible to put a bracket between others, without having to remove them.

The accessories can be mounted at any place on the bar, also to dress the bar up little you can add end caps for each end. Good luck, enjoy your Kobalt tools.
