Strap?

not sure but you can slide the handle more toward the weedeater head for better balance. have you tried that?

I don't know about the strap, but there is a ring to attach one to. It does not come with the unit, unfortunately. It would be easier for me, as well. I think you would have to call your local store and ask someone in that department. I checked my owner's manual, it refers to the shoulder harness ring but does not give a part number.
