Do I use this to thin polyurethane when refinishing floors? If not, what do you recommend?

If your refinishing hardwood floors, you should simply attempt to use the dry sanding method, any kind of thinner could potentially stain the floor past the surface which will be noticeable when finished, dry sanding will remove polyurethane when it is dry.
