Are Jobes tomatoe spikes compatible with the marigolds in the same pot?

I only use one spike on my dwarf Japanese Maples even though the spikes are timed-release. I would not use but one spike per pot because of the concentration. I believe the Marigolds would benefit from the booster throughout the growing season.
