I'm confused about the colors. I thought that any wire 24 to 12 could be used in these. Can you please clear this up clearer. Thanks

Thank you for your interest in the IDEAL Push-in Wire Connectors. On the standard Push-in Connectors, the different colors signify how many ports the connector has. This is the Wire Range for our standard Push-in Connectors and a link to IDEAL's Product Sell Sheet for these items: https://www.idealind.com/content/dam/ideal-electrical-dotcom/product-assets/wire-connectors/push-in/resources/IDEAL-InSure-PushInConnector-SellSheet-NA.pdf Solid Copper: 12 – 20 AWG Stranded Copper: 12 – 16 AWG (≤ 19 Stranded) 18 AWG (7 Stranded) Stranded Copper Tin Bonded) 14 – 18 AWG (≤ 19 Stranded) ( DO NOT use with 16 AWG (26 Strands)
