Does close-mount option use a downrod?


Yes, it does. The fan is not really a flush-mount, but it does come include a very short downrod for a close-mount option. Blades on this model measure about 10" from the ceiling and the bottom of the lightkit extends down about 18". Compared to a different Hunter fan that we have that is a true flush-mount, this fan is about 2-3" lower, which is the approximate length of the shorter downrod.

2 down rods included. The short one is less than an inch and looks flush mounted. We used this mount in our entry, with a light kit. The ceiling is 8 foot with about 6.5 put clearance with lights.

Not really. There is a close mount rod that sticks out about an inch once it is fully installed, and the cover plate is in place.
