Type of wood


The top is solid wood (I think oak) - the sides and shelving are wood product - pressboard and painted.

The manufactory answer is not true, in my opinion, unless Asian wood is made from sawdust particles. I bought this lovely island in December of 2017 & was very disappointed to see that except for a few pieces this island is NOT made of all wood at all. How do I know? Because one of the shelves was badly chipped and it clearly showed what is behind the white paint. Very pretty island to look at, but because it is not made of solid wood I don't expect it to hold up for long time.
