The housing to be attached is about 6 inches in diameter, but bracket is only 5-ish inches. How do I make up the difference? Longer screws?


It sounds like you need to either order an exact replacement part (mounting bracket) or you'll need to order a mounting system that includes the canopy. Check out the Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Angled Mount Adapter (Item # 102540 Model # 40366). It's an angled ceiling adapter, but can be used on a flat ceiling. I'm not sure what metal finish you need, but it comes in a variety of finishes.
