How to the wires attached

This switch is used with lights that have 3 bulbs. The wire marked L goes to the incoming power, The wire marked 1 goes to one bulb and the wire marked 2 goes to the other two bulbs

However, if you are not familiar with electrical work you may want to consult an electrician. -Disconnect the power to the fan. remove the light kit. -Examine the wires from the fan light to the switch. the existing switch should have a Terminal 1, 2 and L. note which wire goes to which terminal on the old switch. -Remove the old switch by unscrewing the pull chain nut. -Cut the wires from the old switch as close to the switch as possible. -Strip about 1/2 inch from the ends of the wires. -Use wire nuts to: -Connect the red wire from the new switch to the light’s Terminal 1 -Connect the blue wire to Terminal 2 -Connect the black wire to Terminal L -Replace the switch into the same location on the light kit. secure with the pull chain nut. -Reinstall the light to the fan.
