will this work on hunter, hampton bay, and home decorators collection fans? Also, will it reverse the fan direction from the remote?


The remote is compatible with any of these brands as long as the fan didn't come with a remote. Or if the fan did have a remote, the receiver must not be integrated (built into the motor housing). Unfortunately, the remote does not have a reverse switch. Twice per year, you would have to manually move the switch on the fan.
