why does the light blink on and off?

Oh my gosh! This answered my problem! I've had it for years and suddenly it would just blink on and then go off. Flipped the D/O switch. Thank you!
Was this Answer Helpful ?Mine started going on snd off when i replaced the bulbs- they were 4 x 40 watt (160 watt total) and i replaced eith 60 watt x 4 (249 watt total) which exceeds the 180 watt total before the wattage limiter kicks in. I unscrewerd one bulb (leaving 3x 60 watt = 180 total) and it works fine niw until i get 40 watt replacements.

If you're using incandescent bulbs be sure the maximum wattage doesn't exceed 180 watts. 3. Be sure the "D/O" switch is set to "D" for dimmable bulbs and "O" for non-dimmable bulbs.
