How to open up to replace battery? I unscrewed the back but cannot open top or bottom. I do not want to break it. It is 5 yrs old.

Hi Karen, there is an opening towards the bottom of the remote which can be removed. Once that is removed, the battery will be visible in the middle. You can review the installation guide on the Lowes product webpage for a better idea of what to expect. The installation guide can be found on the Lowes product webpage under the "Overview" section, on the right side of the screen. It is a link to a PDF called "Installation Guide".
