Hi Scotty, this ceiling fan is not compatible with a universal ceiling fan remote because there is not enough room for it in the ceiling fan’s motor housing. You can, however, use a wall switch that contains notches for the fan speeds and a dimmer for the lights. We recommend this wall switch, item #745362, model #41180. If you are planning on using this type of wall switch, please turn the lights and fan speeds on high with the pull chain; from there, you can use the wall switch to control the ceiling fans settings.
