Ceiling Fan install with optional purchased remote


You can install with the normal instructions. Even with one fan switch, the remote will be able to operate the fan and the light separately. With two separate switches, follow the directions. At the outlet box, one of the hot/live wires will be capped off (not used). Both wall switches should remain in the on position after the remote is installed. Do not flip the switch as it can send a power surge which may cause the remote to become "un-synced".
