why can you only use 36 cell 12 volt panels?


You can also use 60 cell and 72 cell panels (for a 12V battery bank) with this charge controller because it has MPPT technology. If the panels are connected in series connections, you will want to be careful that the overall voltage does not exceed 100V of combined Voc.
