Is there a shorter mounting bracket available, the 8.75 length dimension is too long sticks out into garage , need a 2.5 in shorter bracket

There are not shorter brackets available. There are a couple different mounting options available. They can be mounted on the door frame, the wall, or on the floor of the garage. If you need assistance, please reach out to Genie customer service at 1-800-354-3643.
