Working with 2 x 6 x 8 boards. Looking to dowel together at least 5 boards edge to edge for a table. This will self center on the 1 3/4 side edge?

To center or align the turret (revolver spindle) you loosen the black hand tightening bolt, slide the turret to where you want to drill the hole then retighten the black bolt. the front edge of the base that the turret sets on is the center line of the hole your drilling. Once you adjust it, It's adjusted for every board of that thickness. Very easy to work with and quick to use. I like the adjustable feature.
