Can you describe the idle control function?


Idle control regulates the engine's RPM rate based on the amount of load(s) placed on the generator. The engine's RPMs will drop when a load is not connected and will increase to accommodate attached loads.

The idle control switch on the generator operates the engine at normal rpm when there is an electrical load present, and automatically reduces the engine to a lower rpm when a load is not present. The system can also be turned off to operate the engine at all times.
