Can I get my 10% Veterans discount on the purchase of a Generac whole house generator?

Lowe's does not stack discounts for customers. If you try to stack (for example) a Lowe's Credit Card 5% discount with a veteran's 10%, that is not something given. It is stated in the fine print on the credit card agreement. The only time a discount is stacked is if the item has a vendor-sponsored discount that is already taken off when entered at a register, then a veteran's or LCC will be taken off. NOTE: Veteran's discounts will take off UP TO 10%. This depends on the cost of the item, not selling price. Lowe's will no longer allow veteran's discounts to bring the final selling price of an item below Lowe's cost.

You should get the discount, but it's only on the generator. They may also give you the base price not the purchased price. They will also fight you for that discount, also consider buying during a holiday where they offer a store wide discount and request both discounts. I went to one of their stores to buy carpet on sale, I purchased the carpet and then requested the veterans discount and was told that the cash registers won't accept two discounts. I spoke to the manager and both discounts were given, be firm not confrontation.
