Is this safe for use with computers?

We used this to power and use our cell phones and portable electronics (ipads, ipod touches, gameboys.) I do not know about using it to power computers. I suppose you could use a surge protector on the end of the extension cord to minimize the risk of a power surge, though I am not certain about the overall safety of doing this. Just a thought. We did not use a surge protector while using the generator for our small electronics and had no problems.
