Just buy a silence motorcycle muffler if your concern is the loud noise.

Was this Answer Helpful ?First. Why would you want to turn down the idle speed? Is the output voltage too high? Start the generator and use a multi meter to check output voltage on one of the standard outlets. If the no load voltage is in between 121 and 124 volts AC, do NOT adjust the idle speed. If the voltage is too high or too low then a governor adjustment may need to be made. If you do not know how to adjust the governor, please explain the issue to a trained professional who can service the generator.

Was this Answer Helpful ?Generac's GP3300 portable generator does not feature an idle control. However, if the engine "hunts" or falters, the unit's choke can be moved to the halfway position until the engine runs smoothly. If issues persist after performing this task, we would then recommend ensuring that the unit is not overloaded and contacting a certified service provider in your local area if any additional diagnostic or servicing work is required.
