Only use an extension cord if the heater’s manual allows it. Many space heater manuals say “do not use with extension cord.” If it says that, do not do it. Yes, in many cases it can. Two typical space heaters are about 1,500W each (around 3,000W total), and a TV is usually under 300W, so you’re often in the 3,100–3,500W range. With this generator’s 7,500 running watts (9,400 starting), that load is generally within capacity. To be sure, confirm the wattage on each heater’s label and whether they’re running on high, avoid other high-draw items at the same time (microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker, etc.), and if you’re using cords, use a heavy-duty cord rated for the amperage and keep it as short as practical. If you plan to power home circuits, the safest setup is a properly installed manual transfer switch or interlock, rather than running multiple cords into the house.
