Generac’s manual transfer switch, model number 6335, can power up to 12 circuits in your home, when connected to a compatible portable generator. Considering this, it is unlikely that you will be able to power your entire your home with the portable generator and associated switch. If you are interested in powering your entire home with a generator in the event of a utility outage, we would recommend considering our automatic standby generators and associated automatic transfer switches. However, if you are going to be utilizing a portable generator, along with the manual transfer switch, model number 6335, please note that the unit is NEMA 3R listed, meaning it can be installed either indoors or outdoors; the unit should not be flush-mounted into a wall. Lastly, when connecting a manual transfer switch to a select portable generator, it is important that both units are compatible with one another. Switch number 6335 features an CS6365 inlet configuration and is compatible for use with Generac’s GP15000E, GP17500E, and XG1000E portable generators. To ensure that you are utilizing two compatible products, along with the appropriate configuration for your back-up power needs, we would recommend working with a local certified electrician.
