Do not apply residential GILA films with adhesives to plastic, Plexiglas, vinyl, polycarbonate surfaces, or motor vehicle windows. On plastic surfaces, the adhesive on the film may cause bubbling or blistering and long darts that have the appearance of wrinkles. This is caused by incompatible chemistries and the greater expansion and contraction of the plastic surfaces that have film applied to them and as they are warmed by the sun. Furthermore, attempting to remove film from plastic surfaces may result in permanent damage to such plastic windows. Residual adhesive may prove difficult to remove from plastic without physically or chemically damaging it. You may, however install adhesive-free vinyl Glare Control or Privacy Black films on such windows, carefully following instructions and never trimming such films directly on the plastic window.
