The bag says it will cover 3 square feet at a 2 inch depth. That means if you made a path 1 foot wide, your area covered would be 3 feet by 1 foot.

It also gives you a table of how many bags you need to cover 25 square feet, 50 square feet, and 100 square feet to a depth of 2 inches, 3 inches, and 4 inches. The 6 square feet coverage in the description must only be 1 inch deep. For weed suppression recommend first covering the ground with high grade landscaping fabric (like tarp material) and not the flimsy see through fabric that tears easily.
