Since this is the replacement for BRK SC9120b, does this mean they are interchangeable and will work with a mixture of the older model and now this newer model? Thanks.


I was able to use existing SC9120B wiring but I did have to replace the SC9120B mounting bracket with the new one.

Neither the wiring harness nor the base attachment is compatible with the 9120. It would have been easy to just plug the new one in and twist it on to the bracket. Instead you have to turn off the breaker, replace the old bracket that is screwed into the ceiling,pull the wires out of the ceiling, remove the wire nuts, connect the new (provided) cable, and twist the new unit into the base.

Hi GnD62798, thank you for your question. This new model will not be compatible with old mounting brackets. We recommend replacing your mounting bracket when you get a new alarm. This model is compatible for interconnection with your SC9120B using the orange wire. - Maria
