Hi Al, thank you for reaching out! The SC5 detector is available in two versions: hardwired and wireless (Wi-Fi). The hardwired version is interconnect-ready and does not require any programming, just proper wiring to connect with other SC5 hardwired units or compatible First Alert hardwired devices. For Wi-Fi interconnection, both AC and DC versions need to be onboarded through the First Alert app by following the setup process. This enables wireless communication between devices.
