Can you use these by running off batteries instead of hardwiring them? I only have 2 spots in my house to hardwire but would like to install more.


No the battery in these smoke detectors are just meant for power outage coverage. I would suggest buying single wired detectors and then really good battery detectors for the rest of your house. Be sure to look for ones that offer a ten year battery life.
