Unit won’t sto chirping even though battery has been changed, is there more than one battery?

Only one battery per unit. Continued chirping either means 1) 10-year end of life warning, 2) battery is already discharged, or inserted with incorrect polarity, or 3) unit has detected an internal fault. Each fault has its own number of chirp signals - - see owners manual.
